Back with PICS!!!

Well I kind of just came back from Hong Kong, fell asleep due to jet lag ^-^;. Well first of all, I went to JAPAN (pump fist in air), which this post is going to be about. I finally made it, I was in the Osaka airport the whole time though lol. I went first class to Japan, the only way to go…they stuffed me so much I was afraid of going to the bathroom constantly, turns out it was only a few times. Even though it was just an airport there were many different things for me there. I’ll explain with the pics.

Japan is known for its “full” trains that leads to a lot of pushing, Osaka’s terminal train was no different

This was just awesome, the ground toilet, I never used it though, never know what kind of weirdos are out there lol
P5200157
Japan is pretty strict about recycling which I think is very cool, as we are destroying our ozone layer with our chemicals. I noticed a lot of umbrellas in the other portion while I was there
P5200158
Ahhh, the infamous vending machines…just awesome as they bask in their glory
P5200159
What’s even more awesome, beer in vending machines. I am not a drinker though, actually not at all if I can help it, but awesome nonetheless. Btw, don’t mind the shadow, it’s some kind of ghost or something……

Ahhh, plastic food so real you might eat it. Sometimes the food was real so when I touched it I had to quickly dispose of the evidence (aka lick my fingers).
P5200161
This food is real and tasted excellent for something simple. Osaka is famous for takoyaki, so I had some and it was delicious. The takoyaki here in the U.S. where I live is kind of runny so I enjoyed the more “cooked” version in Osaka.

What I didn’t enjoy was the price. That meal cost me 17 USD which is a pretty hefty sum compared to the food at Hong Kong. I could get like 5-8 meals for that kind of price in Hong Kong but thats for later. What was interesting though was the international boarding areas accepting USD but every where else in the airport only accepted yen or credit card, guess its to be expected. I had a nice time using my Japanese though getting around the airport.

From the land of kawaii comes kawaii phone cards, the penguin is my favorite

A shower, lounge, and massage in the airport. A shower now, thats pretty interesting as no where in the U.S. which I have traveled to offered this.

This is one of those infamous multiple mangas in one book that I have heard so much about…
P5200170
They weren’t kidding, this was all over the airport in this size. There were a ton of other books and magazines there, including “unmentionable ones” that were just out there for the public, but were mostly taped to prevent viewing, mostly….

Lastly is my first Japanese vending drink, which was pretty good. It tasted like a slightly sugary and light orange juice. I hope Brent from Konbini Life doesn’t consider this copying him as this pic is how he starts most of his reviews with. It had a lot of amino acids, which incidentally is good. I hope I got the most out of it though and maybe I did as I never became sick in the seriously chemically induced air in Hong Kong.

Tomorrow I will talk about Hong Kong

Chobits

CHIIII (Quote Chi from Chobits, say it in a high girls voice). Here is my review on the manga, Chobits. This was an intersting manga that didn’t exactly fall into line with all other mangas, only to be expected from the creators of Chobits and many other popular anime/manga, CLAMP. The plot is about a guy named Hideki who is in the process of trying to get into college by going to cram school and working part time at a cafe who by coincidence finds a persocom (basically an android that is a life size computer or a laptop which is about the size of a doll , but an android that looks so real that you could mistake it for a normal person) in the trash. Persocom’s are very expenisive so finding one in the trash was a gold mine. Well he takes it back to his place (by hand and the persocom weights like maybe over 200 lbs) where he tries to turn it on. Unfortunatly he is computer illiterate and finds out to turn the persocom on he must flip a switch which is in the persocom’s ummm…”special area,” and it turns out it is broken by the fact that all it says is Chi, so he calls the persocom Chi. So anyways life is somewhat good, he tells his friend to help him to no avail, surprisingly she learns on her own but at a very slow rate. One of the funnier lessons she learns is how to put on underwear or panties as she was found naked. Another funny thing was Hideki pointing to himself to indicate his name was Hideki only to have her interpret Hideki as pointing and she began pointing at everything and calling it hideki. Basically the plot is a love story, I enjoyed it and I am not gay for saying so. The beginning starts off with a lot of comedy but it is actually very compelling, especially towards the end.

This is a manga I recommend reading, if you want to watch the anime then I recommend it as well, slight deviations from each other. The name chobits actually means something btw, here it is: “Chobi” means “little”… Two Chobi become “Chobits.” It’s a word I made up, since the password system won’t take actual words. “Chobi” spelled in hiragana, with the last sound in katakana. Chitose Hibiya: Your daddy told me that anything he thinks is small and hopelessly adorable is “Chobi” to him. That’s why you two are his “Chobits.” Another thing… My Ichiro told me that the word “Chobits”… … is special to him… …because it’s made up of the letters in my name – Chitose Hibiya. Now that you know, go out and ask your friends who know Japanese for they will not know what it means and you can impress them by telling them what it means, unless they read Chobits then you are screwed lol ^-^.

.Hack//Legend of the Twilight Manga

This time it’s going to be a manga review. I read certain manga that I believe is better than the anime series. This includes the manga review of .Hack//Legend of the Twilight. The manga is about a brother and sister named Shugo and Rena who play a MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game)together with characters of the legendary players Kite and Blackrose of the game “The World.” They play together and meet friends along the way like the treasure hunting happy girl Mirei, the hot and sexy werewolf Ouka, the interesting calm, emotional, nice, mean (very conflicting) vagrant AI (Artificial Intelligance) Zefie, and much more interesting characters. Together they go around the online world destroying unstoppable monsters that only Shugo can destroy with his special bracelet.

It’s a comic that is hilarious most of the time I read it but has its seriousness as well in the storyline. Characters are simply random, funny, and amazing. The anime for this takes a different story line but basics are the same, although the anime I did not like very much, even though it had its hilarious moments, its not as interesting as the manga, above the opening for it which I like though. This series comes after the game .hack which also falls in the previous anime story .hack//Sign. Game wasn’t too bad, maybe I’ll do a review of it in the future, anime was interesting but heavy on seriousness. O well, read the .hack//legend of the twilight manga, you won’t be disappointed.

Rave Master (Groove Adventure Rave in Japan)

Here is another anime I recommend. The plot is basically another good guys v.s. bad guys to save the world kind of thing. What I really like about this anime is the character designs, its practically random with every episode. You have talking globs, some weird insect/dog/fish kind of animal with a unicorn horn nose, talking penguins that saypoyo, demons, trolls, and much more. Of course the storyline is interesting as well, Haru Glory with his friends Elie, Musica, Plue, Griff, and more as the story goes on, goes out into the world to save it from Demon Card. Demon Card is a organization bent on taking on taking over the world with incredible weapons called dark brings (db for short) that allow anything that wields it the power to do something they could not normally do like making your body out of steel, make bombs out of nowhere, bring down gravity on someone or more. But Haru is able to counteract Demon Cards db with his own weapon, the decaforce sword, a sword that can change into 10 different forms that allow it to do incredible things like create an explosion on impact, make you as light as air to increase your speed over 10X, and more. You could even combine the explosions and speed to make a blitzkrieg bombardment. I really like the anime, but I like the manga more.

You want to know something interesting? The manga and anime artist, Hiro Mashima, has the same birthday as me, May 3rd. It is so awesome. The story is interesting as there are many parts you would not deem part of the story but more along sub-stories, but are equally as interesting as the main story. Plue is so ummm..interesting lol…he is one of my favorite characters in Rave master. I would recommend this anime and manga for people to get an interest in as it is a crazy adventure to keep you wanting the next one.
