In an effort to save cost, Japanese fast food companies like MOS Burger, Matsuya, and Sukiya are serving smaller portion food which is cheaper than the standard size of the same foods. As a result the companies are finding that they are selling more because of the cheaper prices. Smaller proportions had another surprising result of women being the bigger consumer of smaller proportion food.

I think this is a pretty good idea and maybe if they did that in America people might eat less since they have the food in front of them and won’t get more because our minds might trick us into thinking we have enough which will also help in saving money. Hear that Mcd’s? Make your $1 menu a 50 cent menu .

To those who are able to read Japanese, please tell me ^^. The original page is found on Hatimaki.

Yep, you read correctly, $15 for a bowl of ramen. Even here where I live, a bowl of ramen don’t cost more than 11-12, which is actually pretty expensive still .
The restaurant in question that serves this expensive food item is Ippudo NY in New York’s East Village. According to the Daily Herald where I heard about this $15 ramen bowl, 738 million pounds of ramen (or 4 billion individual packets) was consumed in America alone last year. Most likely most of it coming from people who buy six packages for a $1 . The expensive bowls of ramen where I live also come from restaurants which boasts ramen as it’s number one food item. I have been to some pretty good ones as well, I might start doing food reviews in the future as well xD.

Side note: In Japan it’s proper to slurp your noodles in restaurant ^^. It shows that you really like the noodles <3.

According to reuters, a woman living in Japan became ill after eating Nissin Food Products Co Ltd “cup noodle.” Apparently the noodles she ate were laced with mothball chemicals. This is just more bad news for the Japanese food industry including green beans, pizza, and dumplings. Though those incidents happened to involve products made in China, this noodle incident happens to be rooted from a factory in Japan. If you’re curious as to what the chemical was, it’s called paradichlorobenzene.
