Although I was only at Fanime for one day, actually 5 hours and 2 of those hours were spent in lines to get into the convention ^^;;, I was able to enjoy the dealers room and artist alley where I managed to acquire some swag. There were lots of dealers and artists, you can take a look at the rooms here. The dealers room looked like it consisted mostly of figure sellers that took half the room (they were spread out throughout the whole room), lolita clothing/clothing took 1/4 of the room, and the other 1/4 consisted of people selling Japanese snacks, bags, games, manga, cells, etc. Read on to see all the swag I bought.

First off, on to the dealers room swag. Since half the dealers were figure vendors, it’s expected to buy a figure which is what I did not just once but twice ^^. First off is my very first nendoroid and she is super cute, Al Azif from Demonbane. First off, I bought her because she’s cute and I can’t find her locally lol, she is one of the cuter ones out of all the nendoroids made by Good Smile. Look forward to cute pictures of her this summer xD.

Another first for me is my own Revoltech figure, Pocco. To be honest, I don’t like posable figures because their joints look too obvious. When I initially saw Pocco online I thought “Now there’s a figure I want to get” for her joints isn’t obvious like all the rest. Plus she’s cute lol.

On to the artist alley. Although a large number of artists were present, only a few really caught my eye.

Warning: What you are about to see might be too cute for you to handle, I suggest you look only for an instant then look at something else for the cuteness will draw you in, it’s already too late for me T-T.

The next set of pics are things my girlfriend bought while she was there.

First off, one thing she has been look for at least a year. She’s a big fan of CLAMP, particularly one character that they created, Tomoyo. She has been looking for one Tomoyo trading figure and she finally found it at Fanime. One vendor was actually selling boxes of open clamp in 3d land boxes and they only had one from series 4, and the rest were series 5, Tomoyo was the series 4
(I was deep into the world of figures at the time elsewhere, the funny thing is I thought she said she found a cel of Tomoyo when she called ^^;;)

Something new we haven’t seen before and is totally awesome and cute is the Drunken Panda aka Nomimono Panda. She was very excited when she saw it and I was too (on the inside ). They are awesome and you can check out more info about the creator and their art here. She bought buttons, bookmarks, and a tote bag. The tote bag was only $5 to my surprise, I was expecting at least $15.

Lastly is the cover of guide to Fanime throughout the long weekend which is pretty nice and must have cost them a lot for the whole thing is in color . The schedule for all the events is on regular paper though that is stapled and came with the guide.

If I had more time I would probably have bought more things from Fanime, though I don’t know if my luggage could handle anymore lol. It took some rearranging to bring all of it back with me ^^. I’ll get more next time or at another anime convention if I find time to go.

I’m really into lolita if you couldn’t guess by my most recent post ;p

I know its been a while since I last posted ^^;;. I’ve been busy with school, work, life (big change in life, a very positive one ^^) and the blog has been last to do, especially with finals coming up. So I’m happy to have time to share pictures of my loot from Kawaii Kon. I think I’m going to buy art and maybe a figure from now on . I’m not really interested in pencilboards, dvds, towels, hug pillows (yes, there were hug pillows this year xD), doujin (I bet many of you thought I would buy some ^^;;), etc. I like art, the way you still get to see your favorite character but drawn in a way that makes them distinct but recognizable. Figures are awesome, 3D representations of your favorite characters to admire on your desk or shelf and (click if you dare) hopefully thats it >.<.

Mirai, known throughout the otaku world as Danny Choo’s mascot character, has cosplayed in the form of a cute school girl to a sexy idol ;p. But never before as one who “wields the force,” as seen in the picture above, for she is cosplaying as the Dark Lord, Darth Vadar from Star Wars. This was sent in to me from frequent commenter, D_Blade, who shows that he not only knows his anime but also has the ability to draw, which I am seriously lacking lol. Thanks to D_Blade for sending this in, may the force (whether it be good or dark side lol) be with you.

Happy New Years to everyone, you were all so…SUGOI ^^. I know I’m posting this a bit early, its the 30th where I am, but it’s the 31st for other parts of the world lol. So I wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year before January 1st, 2008. The Shana above was drawn by a friend of mine and I added all of the other stuff, he’s so talented lol; envy flows from me for his artistic skills ;p. You will notice that Shana has rat ears and a tail, this is in celebration of the Chinese zodiac; for 2008 is the year of the rat. The year once again belongs to the rat, after 12 long years the cycle has once again restarted; I hope all of you born in the year of the rat will have a great year. Of course I also hope everyone else will have a great new year as well lol, I’m a dragon.. Happy New Years to all, as we welcome 2008 which is the year of the rat.

What is everyone going to do on New Year’s eve? I’m planning to pop fireworks with my family lol, then head back inside and play some video games ^^.
