Yep, you read correctly, $15 for a bowl of ramen. Even here where I live, a bowl of ramen don’t cost more than 11-12, which is actually pretty expensive still
. But places like New York have ramen costing $15, for ramen is the new “food” to eat, so move over sushi and welcome the noodles we love to slurp.
The restaurant in question that serves this expensive food item is Ippudo NY in New York’s East Village. According to the Daily Herald where I heard about this $15 ramen bowl, 738 million pounds of ramen (or 4 billion individual packets) was consumed in America alone last year. Most likely most of it coming from people who buy six packages for a $1
. The expensive bowls of ramen where I live also come from restaurants which boasts ramen as it’s number one food item. I have been to some pretty good ones as well, I might start doing food reviews in the future as well xD.
Side note: In Japan it’s proper to slurp your noodles in restaurant ^^. It shows that you really like the noodles <3.

Haha, and I’m having Ramen for supper XD but mine is the cheap kind

@Persocom-san: I like the cheap one’s sometimes as well ^^. They make a quick meal I can eat and always good xD.
Long time no see! Well, people fix the prices they want and as consumer you have two options: To consume or not. Okay the third is to not pay, but you’re rewarded by fines/jail for your bravery, recklessness or stupidity.
I don’t know, I’ve given up on ramen (even if I ate ramyun yesterday because there was nothing else in my shelves or fridge). Need nutritious stuff. ^^
