I have gone to a couple anime conventions so far. I enjoy what I see but I always wonder if there could be more. I see anime conventions with all sorts of things from the usual Artist Alley to the interesting like Lolita fashion shows. I was wondering, do any of you have the same thought? What would you do to improve a convention, either your local one or possibly a “fantasy anime convention.” Why do you choose certain anime conventions over others that happen on the same weekend? Is there any type of activity/event at a anime convention like a “Name 100 Anime Characters” game show for example? Tell me your thoughts ^^.

At first, I was mainly caught up in the euphoria/excitement of a large event and that was what drew me to conventions. Plus merchandising, of course =P
Now…I go mainly to meet people and to talk to them. Find out more about our common interests, what they are like and keeping a finger on the pulse of what’s happening elsewhere (in Australia, where I am). Interestingly, its less and less about anime/manga though it is what unites us in the beginning.
Well, for me, I looks at cosplay and anime goodies…
As a cosplayer myself, I feel making the cosplay is rewarding and showing others is also rewarding yet takes a lot of guts to cosplay.
I love going to the dealers room and artist alley!!!!!
The goods they have are cheaper then the ones sold in stores…or hard to find…
Artist’s in asrtist alley is the same. You can only get them there…
Also in conventions, I also attend the concerts they have and go to the Anime Name That Tune. It’s so fun trying to guess the song and watch people being so noob that they can’t guess the easiest song ever like Gundam Wing…
Rin’s last blog post..Balancing Life…
Vvvendors hall! XD then find a room that airs random unrated anime and camp there, for lulz mostly. Or if there is a panel that has a potential for s%^tstorm – go attend that one ^^
