I loved watching Hidamari Sketch so when the announcement of another season was made public I was happy xD.  One of the main reasons why I love the anime is because of the way the characters, they’re very cute ^^.  The way Yuno seems so innocent, Miya-chan’s crazy randomness, Hiro’s love of food yet hate to gain weight attitude, and Sae’s easy to be embarrassed personality are all very lovable.  Of course, who could forget the “eternally 17″ and sexy teacher, Yoshinoya and her good friend the ever shaky principal xD.  One of the best parts in my opinion is seeing Ume sensei doing her little scenes that usually last less than ten seconds but are always cute to watch ^^.

The first episode of the new season actually rewinds the story and goes back to the time before Yuno entered her current school, Yamabuki Art High School, and gives you a nice background story to not only her but of how she met everyone in the Hidamari Apartment.

Yuno meets her mother at a hotel that’s closer to Yamabuki Art High School compared to her home that’s a three hour train ride from the station closest to the school O_o. The reason is because she needs to take the entrance exam to get into the school.

Then next day Yuno and her mother frantically rush to the school to avoid being late, eventually reaching the school in time. Yuno and her mom enter the school grounds hand in hand then eventually it the testing period comes and Yuno must “let go of her moms hand and enter the school alone” (a symbolic move that shows Yuno growing up and being able to take care of herself by leaving her parents care).

Yuno reaches the testing classroom that she has been assigned and sits down for the first exam which is a written exam. She gets ready for the exam by taking out the required materials but finds out the eraser she brought isn’t a normal pencil mark eraser but a kneaded eraser ^^;;. So she tries to make it work out before her exam starts.

The scene switches to the sexy Yoshinoya who’s running through the school’s hall trying to get to the classroom she is supposed to watch for the exams, running with her eyes closed I might add ^^;;;. When all of a sudden she bumps into the shaky principal and is scolded for being late. Afterward she is dragged to her assigned classroom.

The scene switches back to Yuno who takes the last part of her test which is a assessment on her artistic skills. Once finished a relieved Yuno goes out to find her mom waiting for her; in the same spot in fact and still waving which caused her to grow a very large bicep on her right arm xD.

We see Hiro going to Sae’s room to give her lunch on the second floor of Hidamari Apartments then heads down the stairs to see people leaving the high school after the exam.

Yuno is worried about her results and does nothing except lie on the couch. But her mom tells her not to worry which calms Yuno down a bit.

Back at the Hidamari apartment we get to see Ume sensei’s (person who created Hidamari Sketch) “first appearance” over Hidamari Apartment, possibly to welcome the morning ^^.

Sae is up and we see her and Hiro looking at the incoming freshman, the smiling faces of those who got accepted like Yuno and those that are “possibly rejected” like Miya-chan xD.

Later on Yuno waves goodbye to her parents as she leaves for Hidamari Apartment as her new life begins.

While Yuno is looking over her new room she hears a voice outside which is her new neighbor, Miyako chan, asking for moving soba xD. So Yuno makes soba for the both of them to eat, assuming Miyako is her sempai (upperclassmen). Miya-chan tells her that they’re the same year and starts calling her different names that involve Yuno to the delight of Yuno and realizes she’s found a friend.

Miya-chan invites Yuno to meet their sempai’s, such as Hiro who lives below Yuno. They knock on Hiro’s door and and find her on the ground shivering, it’s because Hiro’s been hearing creaking noises above her. Yuno explains that it was her then everything becomes normal. To introduce each other, Hiro suggests having everyone draw something to introduce each other. Yuno suggests a bunny and everyone agrees. After some time, everyone is done. Hiro drew a realistic bunny picture, Yuno drew a cartoon bunny, and Miyako made…something ^^;;;.

Miya-chan suggests they go to a public bath but Hiro is a bit reserved about it. The reason being is because she thinks shes fat because she just finished eating a slice of cake. Miya-chan pokes Hiro’s stomach that causes Miya-chan to have a lump on her head xD. They start talking about Yuno being independent then time passes and Hiro realizes she needs to take food to Sae soon, so everyone parts ways.

We eventually see everyone thinking about the future in Hidamari Apartment and the relationship they share together.

Impression:
This is a great first episode because it tells us the background story between the girls. I love Ume Sensei and Yoshinoya Sensei, you can tell by the amount of pictures I tried to take of them in the small amount of time they were on xD. Everything that I love about this anime is passed on from the original and even better is more Ume Sensei xD. I’m always alert when I watch this anime so I don’t miss her appearance ^^. I’m looking forward to much more episodes of this anime ^^.
