This is for those who can read hiragana, one of the writing systems in Japan. I recently came across another Firefox plugin, the furigana injector, which puts hiragana above kanji words, this is called “furigana” in Japan. The plugin is for people who can read hiragana and understand Japanese words but can’t read kanji, this will really help you out on Japanese websites. If you’re learning Japanese then this will help you to speak Japanese more fluidly; by speaking the hiragana you read out loud, it will train your mouth muscles to speak Japanese. Just to let you know, the furigana injector doesn’t translate the kanji into English, so use the rikai-chan plugin for that. Also, there’s a setting to change the “level” of the kanji being translated, for when you read Japanese you tend to get accustomed to certain kanji’s and don’t need furigana to read it, my favorite being 見る (the first character is the kanji, pronounced mi, the second character is hiranga that is pronouced ru, so altogether it is miru, the translation for it is “see/look”) . Enjoy ^^.
