“Nothing,” I say in a startled tone, for this is the first time that I have seen Shana go into flame haze mode. The brilliant red eyes piercing through me like a arrow, hair glowing a fiery red as if it were made of fire itself, and small flames falling around her as she moves. Shana has just felt a disturbance in the air and needed to check it out, hence the flame haze mode. “If there’s nothing else I’m leaving,” Shana tells me as she starts to fly away. Coming out of my awkward stare, I notice the melon pan (bread) I just bought for the both of us was still in the bag I was now holding, sweat dripping from my hand over the surprise of seeing Shana’s flame haze mode. “Wait” I yell out to her, “you forgot your melon pan,” as I hold the pan out for her to take. A bit embarrassed, Shana flies down to me in a hurry and starts yelling at me, “urusai, urusai, urusai.” With that being said, she grabs the melon pan and flies off to maintain the balance of the world.

I initially didn’t want to buy Shana because of her hair, but after seeing a bunch of really nice Shana pictures, I decided that I would buy her when I got the chance. This “chance” actually happened a few weeks ago when I went to the local anime store to see if any new figures were available, I found one that I really wanted, though I can’t remember what it was now ^^;, and was about to purchase it when I saw Shana pointing her finger at me lol. So I immediately dropped (not literally ^^) the other figure and bought Shana instead, (sigh) I’m such a Shana fan boy lol. She was the last one in stock too so lucky me ^^.

I actually really like the hair now lol, I’m such a hypocrite ;p. The translucent aspect of the hair looks really nice under the light, as you can see by the pictures lol. The hair is nicely distributed in color with a fierce fire type of flow, the strongest source would be the hair on her head which is the darkest red, then the hair starts to turn orange about midway, and finally yellow at the end tips.

One of the back draws of such a lovely head of long hair is how heavy it is lol. So without the base Shana would always fall on her back ;p. To take a picture of her without the base I needed to create a slight incline behind Shana to give her balance to stand by herself. Underneath the paper I used, I put the handle of a brush directly behind her to get the incline effect.

If you haven’t noticed already, Shana’s skirt is pretty short. So short that you could get a nice pantsu shot without much problems. But as the gentlemen I am (I bet you’re laughing right now after you read that “gentlemen” part), you would know that I wouldn’t do such a thing. You are correct….as I took off the whole skirt instead lol.

But let us not forget the mentor of Shana, Alastor. There aren’t many pictures centering on him lol, poor guy. The detail on the pendent that Alastor uses to talk to Shana is nicely detailed and looks just like the animes except for the effect inside the pendent. I would take a closer picture if I had a better macro on my camera lol, as a result you must enjoy the detail of Alastor while looking at Shana’s pantsu ;p.

The one thing that surprised me was how easy I got the sword to fit in Shana’s hair and in her hand. Practically every review I read said putting the sword in was a bit hard to do and felt like they would break the sword in the process. Fitting the sword through the hair was the easy part, but having to move it down towards the hand was a bit hard, then actually fitting the sword handle in the hand required me to move Shana’s arm a bit to an angle that would be easiest to fit. I believe I got everything done in under a minute. The base is a shiny black circle that easily gets smudged lol, my fingerprints are all over it. Shana stands firmly on both legs so no fear of leaning. A couple imperfections but the most noticeable one is underneath the yellow ribbon that you can’t see unless you take a look lol.
