I personally liked the previous opening more than the new one ;p
Chiaki with blonde hair O_o, Chiaki’s hair fluff can move O_o, and the eyes O_O are just so different for me. I’ve been spoiled by Minami-ke lol, as I am too used to the old stuff to really accept the new. But with the new season brings new hilarity that must not be taken lightly. We’ll see how Okawari fares compared to the original Minami-ke.
Instead of the usual review, I thought I would explain what I like about the anime. Haruka going all crazy in her monkey suit, a WTF moment for me ^^. It was hilarious seeing Kana cry while she wore that “samurai headgear”
The best part was probably at the end when Kana “accidentally” exposed herself to Fujioka who went into the woman’s side of the bath because he saw “mako-chan” on the men’s side and saw Touma on the men’s side. With a mix-up of identity, Fujioka went to the wrong side and opened up the door to the women’s bath to see Kana naked and resulting in the rest of their break to be ruined.
Impression:
Honestly, it wasn’t as good as the first episode of Minami-ke. I wish it was but hey, it could get better. The artwork looks almost the same except for the characters themselves, their faces look less human-like in my opinion. This is due to the show being shifted over to a new studio, which I do not approve of lol. They actually made that little tuft on Chiaki’s head move, freaky O_o. Plus, Chiaki has two hair colors, I preferred her previous one color lol. It looks like the show is continuing with where it left off on the New Year’s episode from the previous season which is good, so we can hopefully see more character development. I’m hoping to see more hilarity ensue as Minami-ke is a comedy/slice of life anime. Here’s to a new season of Minami-ke.
Well, that tuft of hair moved in the last episode of the first season when Chiaki was drunk (see Ep 13’s infamous ‘juice’ incident), so it’s not unprecedented. It’s just she’s using it more like a cat’s tail here, rather than something to express emotion only when she’s completely out of her mind.
I actually like the moving fluffy. Heh. But that’s because I’m totally into Chiaki I guess :p Both productions are okay for me, with no real preference between either. Can’t say I’m too enchanted by the ED of okawari though, it could be just me but I felt Kana was walking kinda weird, like a chicken strut or something ^^; Probably attractive to others though.
After having a bit more time to go back and reflect on the earlier episodes of Minami-ke Okawari, I find that it doesn’t have the same feel as the first season. At times I find it great, and times I do not, but the first season for me definitely stands on top.

I’m try my best to like Okawari, but I find myself being disappointed even after wading through 5 episodes. Bleh.
