I have recently installed a new plugin called math spam protection that allows only those who answer the math question to comment. I was wondering if this plugin was placed properly on the site, the spam protector should be below the “Leave a reply” line and above the name you register on the site. There is a space where you can answer the question on the left and a math problem on the right. I tried the plugin myself by logging out of my admin account and testing it, the result is I could leave a comment, the test comment is seen in the comment section of this post. Please try to leave a comment, if you can, as it will confirm that the plugin works.Obviously if it doesn’t work you can’t leave a comment telling me it doesn’t work lol. If you can’t see the spam protection or it doesn’t seem to work, please contact me through email, my email address is raving63@yahoo.com

this one alot better, instead of putting the plugin below the website textfield (which auto hides..).

I should start looking at a different spam protection type of plugin as Spam Karma 2 starts to have it’s problem. I’ve had cases where people can’t see the catchpa image, yet I can’t really test it myself since it has logged my IP (I use a static IP address). Still, good to see you trying out a new method.
Testing Sum of 5 + 7 = 12

Maybe you should do ones like…
“Spam protection: whats 2765574 / 357583749 * 4564789345 – 14273845984 +573456875″.
But works fine at the moment.
Or try something like…
“Spam Protection: Is this picture moe?”
“Answer ‘Yes’ ”
And insert a nice moe picture there XD
Works fine at the moment. I’m using Akimet myself for my blog. Do get spam getting through the filter now and then but it isn’t much of a problem.
Realized that after hitting the submit button, the page seems to go into a infinite loop. :/

how about typing the Fibonacci sequence for a spam protection??
Setsuna-san’s last blog post..Seasons greetings and blessings for all!!!
Not everyone knows the Fibonacci sequence, Setsuna-san. I, for example, only know up to 4 numbers. But, what you need is an otaku filter. Like ‘What was the name of Lucky Star’s opening’ or ‘How many roles did Watanabe Shinichi have in anime’ or something.

About spam protection, I am currently testing Akismet plugin, for Wordpress. It just requieres a key, but can get it for free. Just need to register. It seems to be quite effective.
Just to let you know about that… though math questions are a very good alternative, but personally I don’t want to use it.

@All: Thanks to all for helping me test the plugin. I actually use Spam Karma 2 and Akismet for spam protection which protects this blog from spam popping up on the comments but I actually have another reason for the plugin. For some reason, a few comments that are legitimate are considered spam by my blog, so I am hoping this plugin will fix that problem. Lol, moe questions…sorry but my coding skills aren’t that good, but that sounds like a good idea. I think this plugin also stopped the spams from coming in, as I would get at least 20 a day but now I see the same spam collected by Spam Karma from 2 days ago in the same exact spot.
@Danny: -13665084756 O_o lol, thats rounded up.
*Counts on his fingers* No, just kidding!
Hopefully those are simple, no need to use Calc.exe! Otherwise, got to review basics!
lol.
(I wonder what gives if you put the answer in letters rather than numbers… 13375p34k aside -Hope I’m writing the latter well-)
