You need to have a cute little Shanatan whenever you see something Shana. Who doesn’t want a cute little girl on top of their head? I certainly wouldn’t mind lol. With the release of Shakugan No Shana: The Movie, comes Shakugan No Shanatan: The Movie. Basically, it’s a parody of the movie where Shana is about 14 centimeters tall (I assume) and goes around in different parts of the movie which she seamlessly integrates into and acts like well, Shana ^^.

It’s not very long, about six minutes, but still got a few laughs out of me.

The first scene has Shana appearing on Yuji’s head from the scene where Shana first appears and she asks “What are you looking at?” The second scene has Marian, Friagne’s doll, popping her stiches after escaping from the first encounter between her and Shana, afterwards she returns to Friagne who repairs her. After that, Shana is seen eating fried chicken skin on a stick on top of Yuji’s head and throws the sticks over the side of Yuji’s head after she’s done engulfing it which annoys Yuji and Shana replies “URUSEI, URUSEI, URUSEI” (my favorite scene); from the scene where Shana and Yuji cross the bridge towards Yuji’s home. Yuji is at home eating his breakfast and wondering where the girl who sits on his head is at the moment while he watches television, only to see her on Wilhelmina’s backpack eating more fried chicken skin as they cross the Gobi Desert; scene where Yuji contemplates what had happened the day before. Shana is later on top of Yukari’s head while at the arcade trying to get Ike’s attention which annoys Yukari; scene where Yukari leaves Ike at the arcade and wanders off. Yuji is sitting down with Yukari trying to get her to be “alive” again while Yukari keeps mentioning death that intimates Yuji and he starts to wipe his brow with some pretty pink pantsu, we see Yoshida behind a pole silently threatening to kill Yukari for her closeness to Yuji; from the scene where Yukari’s torch existence dissipates.

Yoshida is counting cookies she puts in a bag for Yuji and starts laughing creepily after three, being a parody of the famous horror story “Banchou Sarayashiki” that tells of a master killing a pretty service girl for dropping and destroying one plate of an expensive 10 plate set and casts her into a well where her ghosts comes out of at night and starts counting but only reaches 9 out of 10 and starts laughing creepily; scene where she packs cookies. Shana has defeated Friagne’s Hougu, Regular Sharp, and tells Marian, who is apologetic for getting it destroyed, not to worry as there are more as he stars puking out a bunch of cards (one of my favorites ^^); scene where Shana just defeats Marian who was using Regular sharp. Yoshida decides to eat the cookies she couldn’t give to Yuji before they go bad and finds Shana on the end of the cookie she pulls out (kawaii) and starts arguing with her (funny scene); scene where Yoshida eats the cookies. Alastor is somehow underwater and attached to a squids tentacle and wonders how he got there; funny scene they made for the end.

Impression:
It’s something to watch if you’re a fan of Shana or chibi lol. I hope they also make a Shanatan for Shana II.
