What a beautiful figure she was when I saw her. But watch out, for she can poke an eye out with her lovely flowing red, yet rigid, hair lol. Ignis, from the anime Jingai Makyou, was a very nice find for me, for I actually picked her up when I went to Japan and at a great price too ^^, 3400 yen (about 30 USD). What was interesting about this price was how I found the same figure for twice the amount at the shop one floor above me lol. I saw many other figures at the store but I remembered that I always wanted to get this figure but I didn’t have my own credit card yet so I couldn’t order Ignis online, so I was overjoyed when I found and purchased her ^^.

Ignis was nicely detailed, to be expected by Alter. Her eyes have a nice color and depth that draws me in and yet show her to be no push over, especially when wielding her sword lol. The pose the sculptor, 高橋 剛, chose to create gives Ignis a mysterious and alluring look, plus well balanced which is really important.

There was no detail left out when Ignis was made into a figure, from Ignis’s flowing hair to her very flashy outfit that leaves some places open ;p.

During the photo shoot:
Ignis: Ewwww, what’s that smell (>x<)?

Me: eeetouu (uhhh), gomenasai (sorry) Ignis…I was just so excited to finally meet you that I “accidentally let one go” (farted) (>_<);
Me: AHHHHHHH
Note: I am currently recuperating at the hospital as I type this, j/k if you couldn’t tell lol ^o^.

It’s probably for your own good that you don’t have a credit card. You don’t want to go into financial ruin now do you?
I never bought Ignis myself, though I probably will one day but which one as there’s so many to choose from, lol. Also did you get many watchers whilst you were photographing her?
Love this figure. The pose, the colors, the degree of realism, the care for detail… perfect paint job too.
Picture this: Ignis goes for a instant stance, analyzing her enemy’s next move and weaknesses (basically the undefended parts) then unleashes her special attack with destructive force and pinpoint precision.
Being a RPG and fighting games fan, I admit I like female warriors.
So, yes, very nice pick you got there.
Your pictures are great (couldn’t resist for a low angle, could you? *grins*) and I like the setting too. However, I wonder if you could create a white floor for her to stand so her stand would be camouflaged…
I always find amusing the way otaku bloggers invent meaning for some figure positions… “What’s that smell?” *laughs*
You should have written that you put too much perfume and that she hates that, but no, you had to fart. XD
And yes, I have to agree with Adun. A “Yes, I would like to buy this… Oh, hold on… WOW!! Please add me this and this and this…” has soon happened. Xp
@Adun: Lol, no credit card huh. Well I know I should eventually get one and use it to build my credit history or else I can’t obtain much in this world lol. I just have to pay it off and never be late on a payment to get a nice credit score to purchase stuff from cell phones to homes without as much hassle. I had a few people watching me, probably because I went to a more isolated park to do the shooting. But I met a little boy, maybe about six years old, who was interested in what I was doing. So he was asking why I was taking pictures, if Ignis looked better w/ or w/o her sword, etc. I also let him take a couple of pictures after I set up the pose and the angle on the tripod. What annoyed me though was when he took Ignis’s sword and started hitting her with it, so I kindly asked him to stop and give me the sword back. It was nice, might get more inquisition on my next figure shoot.
@D_Blade: The paint job was nice, not perfect as I found a few spots of imperfection but they weren’t noticeable by a general glance. I love female characters when I play games, I just like girls over guys lol. If sculptors didn’t want low angle shots of their creation, then they should give us photographers access to it lol. Hmmmm, perfume….I’m a guy so I don’t get where you’re going with that lol, but I always get that look like Ignis’s whenever I fart with my brother around and sometimes fighting follows it lol.
Yes, in fact I did notice minor imperfections as well (on the hair) but I wouldn’t be picky about it too much… it could be worse. I don’t see any involuntary seam line though.
Well, here are a few random comments:
- I got a debit card, but I do plan my purchases in advance and don’t spend too much of leisure-related things. Got to be cautious about it eh? T_T
- Kids who are a bit too excited can be dangerous. Hopefully they lack physical strength, or I would have to pray for your figure. Hopefully you reacted well in removing your figure from his grubby mitts.
Personally, I don’t even think I would let him touch “my precious” if it could ever happen, and warn him thoroughly first. You never know.
- Male heroes bore me with all those values of assertiveness, bravery (which can be turned into arrogance at times) and fake chivalry. Machismo is quite outdated those days, in my opinion.
Girl Power! Oops.
- Putting perfume is nice, but if it is to cover BO… Sometimes putting too much of it has the adverse effect compared to what you wanted to achieve. Ever heard of “You reek of perfume”? *laughs*
And for your brotherly bouts because of mischievous smelly accidents… I can only say “Too much information”. You really shouldn’t have developed further on the idea. XD
This Ignis figure is wonderful, nice purchase! I love how she represents well Ignis the warrior, very different from all the others “glamour” Ignis (which are great too though).
I laughed at the “what smells” picture ^^;
@D_Blade: There’s always going to be at least a little imperfection and as long as its not really noticeable then I don’t really care. You know whats interesting, in Japan there is no male stick deodorant or spray so people, like Danny Choo himself, wears perfume because at least you will smell good in the world of smelly businessmen. If I move their I’m going to smell so pretty lol, maybe I’ll pack a years supply of deodorant before resorting to perfume though.
@lu-k: Ya, it took me a few minutes to think of what to describe that one picture, it just came to me lol.
That hair of hers really is nice, but I avoid touching it in fear that I might snap it off or something. I love her details too! Oh those bits of clothing between her legs that are painted exquisitely are kinda scary to touch too hehe..
