This last post will be on the swag that I bought while in Japan. I believe I spent more on food and drink than on otaku stuff. Some of my money also went towards the arcades while I was there. So if you plan on going to Japan and want to buy otaku stuff, bring lots of cash or have a credit card, preferably Visa.
One of the real cool things about Japanese Otaku magazines is the amount of free stuff you can get inside, and its not junk either. I got a bunch of detailed glossy posters just in one of the magazines that now currently decorate my room. I also saw one with a figure but didn’t like it so I passed on it. Btw, most posters are of girls in normal otaku magazines, so for you yaoi girls out there, there were also yaoi magazines. The Hime magazine cost 200 yen at a discount manga/otaku store which came with cute sticky notes and the Megami was 640 yen I believe that came w/ the big Lucky Star poster around four feet tall and 2 feet wide ^-^. That was sugoi.

I really love this figure of Ignis from Alter but never bought it due to the price being around 6000 yen (can’t spend money all the time ^-^), so when I saw this while in Den Den town for 3400 yen I snatched it up right away (although there were three more) and was smiling the rest of the day. I went into other stores in Den Den and found the same Ignis sold from 5400-6400 yen. Lucky me ^-^.

This is what my brother bought, he bought the maid figures for around 200 yen each btw. Magazine/manga was 500 yen and came with a Lucky Star mini journal, stickers, and a postcard. The mangas cost 200 yen at the specialty store…practically half off, what a great find that was.

This was awesome, a Shana cup!!! I only found this in one shop I went to so I was overjoyed when I realized that fact. Very Kawaii. It cost 800 yen.

SHANA CUP?! DO WANT!
… Along with most of your pin-ups/posters and magazines. I’m so jealous. xD
Hehe, ya they are sugoi ^-^. I don’t even know if I should use my cup lol, afraid I might drop it and go “NOOOOOOOO” for a few minutes lol.
I’ve got to start getting magazines from Japan! I didn’t realize how much goodies were in them. Nice pics on your Japan Trip series! I need to start planning to go to Japan next year.
@otaku surf: Yep, there are a lot of goodies found in those magazines including posters, figures, sticky notes, etc. Thanks for the comment on the pics. Japan is definitely the place to go if you’re a otaku ^-^.
I WANT THAT CUP!!!
All hail the Shana cup ^-^.
Haha that’s nice… and lots of otaku stuff… Damn, I should have stacked more of mine than giving it to random friends… I might’ve earned a heck lot of money….
